PBPS Executive meeting 11/4/2005

The Climax Locomotive Restoration Committee was invited to attend the PBPS Executive meeting on 11/4/2005, at this meeting the Executive moved that Stage 3 of the Restoration could commence, however only on the basis that Volunteer Labour was available and the Climax Locomotive Restoration Committee through its fund raising activities and donations could fund any necessary expenditure.

To assist our volunteers on the regular Saturday workday and the soon to commence Wednesday night group, we need your support and donations to keep the project moving. Also see our great range of Climax Clothing and Gifts, all proceeds go towards the Climax Restoration

The hardworking crew from Lineside Attractions have been working assisting in the start of the Climax restoration in helping to do several tasks. The boiler has been sand blasted and when this was done, there was a large amount of sand in the confined spaces. This was all removed last workday and another item, which will accompany the boiler to the USA for rebuilding was also prepared and cleaned.

In addition, work has started on cleaning the detritus of the last decade from the engine's frame and motion to allow the next stage of working on the engine continue. We need additional hands to help in this work and I would be pleased if all lovers of the Climax who wish to see it in steam one day could contact us and help in this work on the first Saturday of the month at Belgrave.
