Back in the USA !
The Climax Boiler is back in the USA.
It is 77 years since the Climax Locomotive left Corry, Pennsylvania. Linc Reed-Nickerson has sent some great photos of the boiler en route from the port of Oregon to the Chelatchie workshop in Washington state.
Mike Rotschy ties down the boiler after loading at the forwarder's facility.
Leaving Oregon for Washington.
Thats Mount St Helens in the background, and yes, she's letting off STEAM!
At the shop with Tum Tum Mountain in the background, on our personal cinder cone.
Waiting to be moved into the shop.
August Climax Workshop Group
This group has grown in number. We welcome Peter and Adrian to the railway. They came up from Gippsland and joined us as new Volunteers and Members. They were given a tour of the Belgrave yard and loco workshop and then started work. Nothing like getting straight into it! The Young Workshop Group also assited in the production of pencil holders, paper weights and mounted sections of boiler tube taken from 1694! These items will be for sale soon from the Climax Store.
The next workshop day is Saturday 1st October.
A special
to Graham Watsford for sponsoring a Gauge Glass.
The Climax Store at Emerald Station is now open!
We will be open most weekends except when The Thomas Shows are running. We will be selling a range of Climax clothing and items as well as a wide variety of railway magazines. We have almost a full collection of Narrow Gauge magazines. These can be purchased singly or in sets at very reasonable prices. Save postage by picking up your internet or mail orders at Emerald.
